Say goodbye to dental imperfections and hello to a beautiful smile with veneers.veneers

Are you dealing with discolorations in your teeth that don’t respond to teeth whitening treatment? Do you hate that your teeth look tiny and worn down due to years of teeth grinding? If you said “yes” to these questions, or if you are dealing with other cosmetic issues with your smile, then our River Forest, IL, cosmetic dentists Dr. Gina Piccioni and Dr. John Hartmann are here to tell you how dental veneers can help.

If you lack confidence in your smile because it’s misshapen, discolored, or misaligned then chances are good that you want to turn to cosmetic dentistry to enhance your appearance and boost your self-confidence. Our River Forest, IL, dentist can provide you with personalized cosmetic dentistry to meet your needs and help you solve the aesthetics problems you are having.

Whether you just wish your smile were a little straighter or years of teeth grinding has left you with small, uneven teeth, let our dental team in River Forest, IL, restore your appearance with veneers. Each veneer is uniquely crafted to cover the entire front surface of a tooth. These custom restorations are even matched to the shade of your smile so you always get restorations that are natural and realistic.

Before veneers can be placed we will need to prepare your teeth first. To make room for your veneers we will remove a minimal amount of enamel from the front of your teeth so that your final results look natural and not bulky.

Don’t worry, though; tooth preparation isn’t painful and can often be performed without needing anesthesia if you don’t experience tooth sensitivity. We will also take molds of your mouth to provide an outside lab with the exact measurements and replicas of your teeth and gums so they can create veneers that are perfectly fitted to your smile.

Once your veneers have been made and sent to us, you will come back in so that we can check the look and fit before bonding them to the front of your teeth with resin and a dental laser. Once the veneers have been bonded they can last up to twenty years or more with proper care.

Are you interested in getting dental veneers in River Forest, IL? If so, then it’s time you scheduled a free dental implant consultation to find out if you are the ideal candidate for this treatment. Call the experts at River Forest Dental Studio today.

For over three decades, veneers have helped mask dental imperfections like chipping, staining or gaps and improve the appearance of millions of teeth. As the name implies, this thin layer of porcelain covers a tooth's visible surface and accurately mimics the texture, color and translucence of natural teeth.

Veneers could be just the solution you need for a more attractive smile. But before you begin treatment, be sure you have these 3 essentials in place to ensure a successful outcome.

True expectations. While the transformation of a tooth's appearance with a veneer can be astounding, veneers in general do have their limitations. You need an adequate amount of the tooth's structure present for a veneer to properly adhere — if not, you may need to consider a porcelain crown instead. Likewise, gaps and other misalignments may be too great for a veneer to cover: in that case, you should consider orthodontics. A thorough examination beforehand will determine if veneers are the best option for you.

An artisan team. Every veneer is custom made to match an individual patient's tooth shape and color, handcrafted by a skilled dental technician. There's also an art to the dentist preparing the tooth beforehand and then properly positioning the veneer for bonding to achieve the most attractive result. Be sure, then, that your veneer "team" comes highly recommended by others.

The best materials. The first porcelains were powdered glass ceramics mixed with water to form a paste. Technicians shaped the paste in successive layers and as it oven-cured it took on the beautiful translucence of natural teeth. Unfortunately, this type of porcelain could be brittle and prone to shattering when subjected to heavy biting forces. In recent years, though, we've begun to use ceramics reinforced with other materials like Leucite for added strength. Today, the materials dentists use have much better durability.

VivicasVeneerstheMakingofaHollywoodSmile

What's an actor's most important feature? According to Vivica A. Fox, whose most recent big-screen role was in Independence Day: Resurgence, it's what you see right up front.

"On screen, your smile and your eyes are the most inviting things that bring the audience in" she said. "Especially if you play the hot chick."

But like lots of people, Vivica reached a point where she felt her smile needed a little help in order to look its best. That's when she turned to a popular cosmetic dental treatment.

"I got veneers years ago," Ms. Fox told Dear Doctor magazine in a recent interview, "just because I had some gapping that probably only I noticed."

What exactly are dental veneers? Essentially, they are thin shells of lustrous porcelain that are permanently attached to the front surfaces of the teeth. Tough, lifelike and stain-resistant, they can cover up a number of defects in your smile — including stains, chips, cracks, and even minor spacing irregularities like the ones Vivica had.

Veneers have become the treatment of choice for Hollywood celebs — and lots of regular folks too — for many reasons. Unlike some treatments that can take many months, it takes just a few appointments to have veneers placed on your teeth. Because they are custom made just for you, they allow you to decide how bright you want your smile to be: anywhere from a natural pearly hue to a brilliant "Hollywood white." Best of all, they are easy to maintain, and can last for many years with only routine care.

To place traditional veneers, it's necessary to prepare the tooth by removing a small amount (a millimeter or two) of its enamel surface. This keeps it from feeling too big — but it also means the treatment can't be reversed, so once you get veneers, you'll always have them. In certain situations, "no-prep" or minimal-prep veneers, which require little or no removal of tooth enamel, may be an option for some people.

Veneers aren't the only way to create a better smile: Teeth whitening, crowns or orthodontic work may also be an alternative. But for many, veneers are the preferred option. What does Vivica think of hers?

"I love my veneers!" she declared, noting that they have held up well for over a decade.

Smiling can feel like a chore when you have less-than-perfect teeth. The shape, the color or the alignment - or maybe all of the above - veneersmight be something you wish you could repair with a wave of a magic wand. While it's not quite that simple, porcelain veneers from Dr. Gina Piccioni and Dr. John Hartmann at River Forest Dental Studio in River Forest, Illinois, can give you the smile you've always wanted in one amazing restoration. If you're wondering if porcelain veneers are the cosmetic dental solution for you, you've come to the right place!

What can veneers do for me?

Veneers from your River Forest dentists can fix a number of cosmetic dental flaws all at once. For example, you may have a chip on the front teeth and/or the rest of your teeth are resistant to regular whitening techniques. Veneers, which are custom-fitted over the top of each natural tooth, fix both of these problems, giving you a perfectly-shaped and brightened smile. Veneers also smooth over imperfections like overlaps, gaps and misshapen teeth. Very few people have perfect natural teeth; most of us have one or two problem areas that we'd like to fix. That ability to repair any and all cosmetic flaws is what makes porcelain veneers universally helpful!

Who should not get veneers?

If you're not entirely committed to veneers, you may want to consider another cosmetic dental treatment from your River Forest dentists. That's because a very thin portion of the enamel on your natural teeth needs to be removed before veneers can be placed; this ensures that the porcelain will fit flush against your gums to give the prosthetics a natural appearance. This also means that veneers are a permanent restoration, as removing them would leave your altered teeth vulnerable to sensitivity and decay. Veneers may also not be the ideal solution for patients who are starting with weakened enamel. And although veneers are extremely versatile, they cannot replace missing teeth.

Find out how cosmetic dentistry can get you the smile you’ve always dreamed of.

If we were to ask people if they are happy with their smiles as they are right now, a lot of people would say “no.” If you feel like you aren’t cosmetic dentistrysatisfied with the way your smile looks and wish there was something you could do about it, it’s time you turned to our River Forest, IL dentists Dr. Gina Piccioni and Dr. John Hartmann for cosmetic dentistry.

From more subtle changes to larger improvements, cosmetic dentistry is able to do it all to help you get the smile you’ve always imagined having. There are many cosmetic dentistry options here in River Forest and it’s important that you truly understand all your options before you decide on the right treatment for you. Here are some of the most popular ways to improve your smile:

Teeth Whitening

If you want to remove surface stains and get your smile several shades whiter then it’s time to find out if you are a good candidate for our amazing in-office whitening system. Are you not so keen on sitting in our chair to get a whiter smile? Then you can also talk to us about our at-home professional whitening system. It won’t be quite as fast but you will still achieve brilliant results in a couple of weeks.

Dental Bonding

Bonding is a pretty amazing option because it is able to fix small flaws. During bonding, we will apply a tooth-colored resin over the problem areas of your tooth or teeth, shape the resin to get the desired look and then harden it with a dental laser. Bonding can help cover small stains, chips or even gaps between teeth without ever needing anesthesia.

Reshaping and Contouring

This could be a great option for you if you want to change the length or shape of your teeth. Sometimes this treatment goes hand-in-hand with dental bonding. During this procedure, we buff out chips, improve the shape of teeth and even fix minor overlapping. This is a great option for someone with a healthy smile that only wants to make minor cosmetic alterations.

Dental Veneers

These thin layers of porcelain are specially created and crafted for each individual to cover the front of their teeth to hide discolorations, cracks and chips, poor spacing between teeth, crookedness and malformed teeth. What bonding and reshaping can’t handle, veneers can address.
